Are there alligators in th Great Dismal Swamp in NC ??????

About 40 years ago, I paddled the entire length of the Dismal Swamp C in a kayak, and saw dozens of them. It is a perfect habitat for them, and I'd be amazed if they weren't still there, especially since it has been protected habitat since long before I was there.
