Im confused as of where to go in the game?

Im playing Final Fantasy 8 and im at the part where Galbadia Garden starts attacking Balamb Garden...if you know what im talking about and have been through this part you should know that after Rinoa falls at the quad and you meet with everyone at the front gate Nida tells you to go up to the 2nd floor clroom...once you get there you have to fight 4 Galbadian Paratroopers...this is where im at...ive beatin the troopers...according to my strategy guide after you beat the troopers and you talk to the SeeD amd the kids your supposed to go to the Bridge and everyone will be there waiting for you...........however wen i talked to the SeeD squall just says its to dangerous here go to the infimary and i talk to the kid and he say just stay with this girl(the SeeD) and youll be ok...and then i went to the bridge but their was no one there....ive done went all over the place looking for where to go and nothings working....is there somthing i need to do before i go to the bridge after i talk to the SeeD and the kids??anything that i may have missed??
