Disciplining baby...I need advice from anyone with experience?

I'm starting to go through something similar but it's hair pulling he will pull huge clumps of hair out. From all the reading I do just keep up the no but most importantly it's the tone when you say no that should grab their attention. I'm not talking about yelling just a serious stern tone...... I'm still working on it.
