How do I filter music so i only hear the background music?

okay...i want to get like a regular song and take the singer's voice out, so i only hear like the beat. Do i have to use any programs?(iwant to replace me instead of the singer becaus i want to see how i sound sining the song)if you know please reply, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!
