Although you are a minor, the law in Canada is very unclear but you probably can sign a contract for any necessities which may include housing. The prospective landlord may not wish to rent to you because the law protects the minor to the extent that the minor may be able to escape the contract based on age while the landlord may not as it may be discriminatory toward the minor - thus you are probably in a "catch 22" situation. Your best bet may be to have your boyfriend lease the apartment and you register as an "occupant" if necessary.
