Why is Abortion suddenly a big issue again?

Pastor Rick Warren asked both major-party presidential candidates about it at his forum last weekend. Obama gave a nuanced answer explaining why he's pro-choice, while McCain said he's pro-life, period. In other words, that forum brought the abortion issue to the table once again.
